Trump: If a certain state, as an example, gets hit by a hurricane or tornado … the governor should be able to handle it. And frankly, if they can’t handle the aftermath, then maybe they shouldn’t be governor,” Trump said Tuesday. So, Abbott shouldn’t be governor of Texas since he had FEMA step in - according to Trump.
Good grief, OP. You have a very immature understanding of news as it relates to politics. The statement Trump made was in regard to having governors, like Abbott, lead disaster response and having the federal government send the funds that have been used by FEMA directly to the states. Since FEMA is still in place (totally revamping the way funding will happen WRT FEMA will take time), FEMA is currently the responding agency. If you didn't know all this, you are seriously uninformed. If you DID know this, and yet still created this dumb thread, you are pretty much a troll.
Ehhh, that's not what Trump said or meant at all. He wants governors to operationally and financially respond to their own state's disasters. And if they cannot do so, he doesn't believe they are fit for governor.
+1 Don't call us, we'll call you, eventually Trump wants to take away the federal support that allows the U.S. to be a 1st world country while still collecting our taxes. I think people have a misconception about 3rd world countries. It's possible to live really well there of you have plenty of money, to pay out of pocket for security, medical, infrastructure, a passel of lawyers to guide you through red tape, etc. This might be more money than "middle class rich" on DCUM has, though maybe the truly wealthy might make the cut. Welcome to the third world, America
