On what conception of value could New College count as a "best value" (#24 on the publics list, above Ohio State, UMinn, CU Boulder, and other reputable schools)? Its presence on the list discredits the list.
Don't sleep on New College. It's set to surge in the rankings over the next 5-10 years. DeSantis purged it of all the woke bull crap, thank Christ.
I was referring to the new New College, not the old. I don't deny that there were some problems there, but this cure -- the 'purge,' as you call it -- has put the school in a condition far worse than the original disease. New College used to be quirky, maybe somewhat flakey, but with solid underlying academics (good students, passionate profs, respectable results for an institution of its kind). Now it's just an exercise in academic ineptitude. By any relevant metric, the school is now much worse that it was three or four years ago.
