[/quote] +1 Focus on maximizing your wealth via your current job. Max out TSP, backdoor Roth, and put extra money in a brokerage account. Invest in at least 80% stocks. A salary of 200k should be more than enough to be set up for retirement and leave your kids several million (assuming you don't have very bad luck). You can absolutely start to create generational wealth, but it will require your kids and likely grandkids to be smart/disciplined with their inheritance.
