I think the acting was great and I suppose the first season was good - the 3rd was good for me in that at least Brody and her were over albeit tragically. I also didn't get why the last episode was though as the perfect ending because I felt like Carrie was just this psycho agent who would repeat her mistakes ad nauseum and really couldn't do much else.  I also didn't like how the baby was written into the show - you really never figured out a resolution to that part of her life.  I just couldn't make sense of what kind of show it wanted to be because it seemed like it was all over the place.  I finished watching it all but I have loved other shows way more.

I did enjoy Americans.  To me, the difference was that I really cared about the characters - the complexity made sense in the context of the story.  As characters, they made sense.  There was a story and it ebbed and flowed unlike Homeland where it was one escapade after another and people just either didn't die, wouldn't die or were so messed up you were frustrated.[/quote]
