MV is not available in most HS

My 2nd grader scored 219 and was 99th percentile on spring MAPM. At what 2nd grade spring MAPM score, would it be reasonable to request taking compacted math in 3rd?
I'm not sure what kind of score would make it reasonable to skip a math level in 3rd grade. I've never heard of anyone doing that at my elementary school (Wootton cluster) - I always thought level skipping was something that only happened in middle school, not elementary.
There is no skipping in elementary because otherwise there is no math class available in 5th grade. It has nothing to do with a child's level in math. And usually public school teachers are way too overburdened to offer meaningful custom work for advanced kids. In 6th grade, some middle schools allow kids to test into Algebra 1, because they have a bus available to take 8th graders to Algebra 2 at the high school for first period. They can get back to their 8th grade second period in time, because high schools start earlier. It's the only way math acceleration works at the secondary level... because of this start time difference. I've heard that rarely, some middle schools offer an actual Alg 2 class in the building, but I think MCPS is trying to phase that out. Always think about the end of the track when wondering whether your kid can be accelerated. My kid scored in the 99th percentile in elementary, was picked for CES/compacted in 4th and 5th, wasn't lotteried into a middle school magnet but took Alg 1 in 6th, and is now taking AP Calc BC in 10th. She will do multivariable in 11th, and take a college math class in 12th ( or AP Stats).
