If this isn't OP, unless OP is of the same culture this is not relevant. Just buy something off the registry you can afford. Spend what you would on a coworker you are not close to who invited you to a wedding. The amount should not be more than you can easily afford-close or not, but if you are not close, don't spend as much as you would on a close family member.[/quote]
