When you go to war you can never predict what will happen. War totally disrupts society and the establishment. Moderates get replaced, some farmer boy becomes a mastermind new hero or terrorist, a Colonel stages a coup, government fall, etc. These type of things continue for 20-30 years. Look at what happened in the US after Vietnam. Look at how the Soviet empire collapsed after Afghanistan. Israel could win this battle and lose the war or they may just out right lose. One thing that has been made clear to Iran. If you have weapon stockpiled and ready to strike, strike or lose the opportunity. The drone war in the Ukraine Russia war will spread. This is just the start. Smart drones controlled by AI are going to level the battlefield. I do not see Israel able to counter it. The US is not prepared for this. Final Israel is now very rightwing religious extremist country. The ultra orthodox are growing fast, live off the state and refuse military service. They are openly hostile to it. I see the US walking away from Israel. We are leaving NATO, Europe and the rest of the world to the own interests. These other countries do not care about Israel. The US has protected both militarily and politically Israel. Even against our on interest. The days of this are coming to an end. The US does not have the influence it once had as leader of the free world. The US is pulling out of protecting Europe. Middle East oil mainly goes to China. We do not want to give aid to any country. What does Israel offer the US?
The ultra orthodox are required to serve now. They even protested, what a bunch of hateful lazy hypocrites. I don't want to waste my tax money on Israel, we have no problem dropping the rest of the world.
I've lost my patience with the entire Middle East. I realize 95% of the people in that region are as peaceful and loving as everyone else in the world. Those people need to rise up and overthrow the IDF, Hamas, Hezbollah, Khamenei, Netanyahu,... all of them! Hang their heads up high for any future tyrant wannabes to see. Otherwise, I'm done caring. They can all kill each other if that's what they prefer. Much of the world is just sick and tired of hearing about their murderous ways.
Except that the rest of the world directly benefits from those murderous ways. Your take is naive to geopolitics. The only way to truly get the US and China and their respective vassals out of that area — because those states are what is driving a lot of what is going on — is energy independence. And that means extensive drilling in the US.
