Summer and fall, meanwhile, have their own weather risks. Hurricane season stretches from June to November, and Bermuda lies in the middle of what's known as "hurricane alley." Direct hits are rare — according to the Bermudian, the destination tends to see just one damaging tropical storm every six or seven years. But combined with summer's steep prices, high humidity, and large crowds, the possibility might be the tipping point for extra-cautious travelers.
It's always a risk but generally Bermuda experiences more hurricane activity later in the summer/fall. The "crowds" are mostly from cruiseship passengers. There are a lot of beaches so you don't have to spend every day at the most popular ones that the cruise passengers all go to. I love Bermuda, and it's really convenient to get to now that the direct flights are back.
