[/quote] This is something people never seem to understand about privates. They don't have to follow equitable rules for admission and they regularly make exceptions for families they are motivated to accept. A late applicant who is a very good fit for the school will absolutely get a second look even as on-time applicants who were deemed not a good fit during the normal application process will not. If you pass on a great kid fleeing SSFS this year because you don't want to bump up a class size by a few digits, those kids will find somewhere else and you won't see them again. So schools will make allowances for a kid they think will really thrive at the school.[/quote]
