Agree. My URM DS was turned off by this (accepted and chose another college). It made him feel like they wanted him for his identity rather than his abilities. He was also worried about the cliques in the social scene. This is a problem at most LACs, but Amherst has is particularly bad due to the high proportion of athletes and FGLI. We definitely saw it in the dining hall when we visited. [/quote]
