Presumably your baby is awake while they are eating. That is most of the awake time of a newborn infant. How many times a day is your baby eating and how long does it take each time?
Sometimes. I usually have to wake him by changing him before feeding him on the other side because he falls asleep. He eats 10-12 times a day. Though he has been cluster feeding so it seems like he is pretty much attached to the breast from 6pm-2am. He eats anywhere from 20-60 minutes. Most feeding times are about 30 minutes.
You should definitely consult a pediatrician, not us. But I tracked my breastfeeding religiously with an app, and my recollection from that age is it was like seven hours a day. And I do recall that it took up a lot of our awake time. We did eat-awake-sleep, which I really liked. I think it helped with keeping the baby awake for a whole feed although I for sure still had to change between boobs for a while.
