Why the democrats refuse to mentor /future plan is just mid boggling.  i guess no one wants to give up power - knowing they'd be mentoring people who will take their power.  But this recent raash of Democratic deaths/health issues is just infuriating.  Gerry Connelly not stepping aside from oversight and then mentoring the new person who took the role is just infuriating.  INFURIATING.  Every obit is how great he was at protecting federal employees, but on his deathbed he certainly wasn't very effective (ok, yes, to be fair not like he alone could have prevented or even tempered this onslaught but he sure wasn't doing anything these past few months).

Do none of these people have anything outside of Congress in their lives?  Is there entire identity being a congressperson?  Why not retire, write books, go on a lecture circuit, enjoy their families - something other than dying in office.  It is NOT a badge of honor.  [/quote]
