But there's no doubt that schools with $700,000+ per student endowments offer more opportunities to a student. But that's not a rule. A lot of the good STEM schools are publics with a much lower ratio. If the kid is pursuing a degree in STEM at Georgia Tech or UIUC or Berkeley, I wouldn't pay too much attention. But for everything else, yes, absolutely endowment per student makes a big difference. And I wouldn't go anywhere near a school that's teetering. [/quote]
