Happened to me once. It really was that I just matured and realized what a good boyfriend he would make. I'd dated the hot but bad guys in college. We dated from 22-24 but then realized our plans for the future were just too different. Met DH a year later and there was no looking back. There was no tricking or anything. He was genuinely a nice guy and for whatever reason didn't give up on wanting to date me.
That isn’t a friend. That is a dude not giving up on trying to bang you. I feel like these men have never had real friends.
Oh whatever the same could be said of her, it's the basis of nearly every romcom.
No. There is a difference between people who are friends to be friends, and people who keep women in their orbit hoping they can trick them into f***ing.
I don't know who you thought you were replying to, but PP literally said there was no trick.
“He never stopped trying to date me” is not a friend. Trick or no trick. Just saying, that wasn’t someone who was a friend, it was someone who was actively pursuing a romantic relationship. Not a friend ship.
DP. He “didn’t give up on wanting to date” is not necessarily active pursuit. Just leaving the door open to possibility.
I'm the PP. I probably should have worded it better. It was just leaving the door open. He dated other people in the time we were friends. It's not like he was constantly hitting on me or asking me out. He was just there, being a good guy and friends and eventually I realized how great a boyfriend he would be. Just meant I was surprised that he actually still wanted to date me after being friend zoned for so long and was still interested in me.
