So much cheating at DS’s US too, also noticed increase since Covid. No honor code. The non-cheating students and teachers are frustrated by the lack of support from administration. It is far, far worse in college.

College needs to rethink having general requirements, which forces kids to take classes in subjects where they have no interest.  Oxford/Cambridge are fine with no general requirements and kids earning their degree in 3 years.

Also, colleges care about kids using AI in high school because they are also academic institutions.  Therefore, getting caught cheating in HS may cut-off your route to certain colleges.  Doesn't mean it isn't happening in HS, but the negative consequences feel more direct.

The real world is actively encouraging everyone to use AI.  They will now look to hire college grads with the best AI skills.  The real world only cares about results and getting those results as quickly and cheaply as possible.

I guess it's also hard to say it's cheating in college because some professors expect their students to actively use it while others may try to be strict about it.  The ones that actively use it will try to accomplish 2x-3x more in their classes vs. pre-AI days, so it's incorporating both AI and original thought into their class.[/quote]
