I assume he also called for the hostages to be released and for Hamas to stop fighting, right?
The people who lack awareness of how humanitarian prioritization naturally works in a civilized world always turn out to be the very same people who view themselves as intrinsically above others. Go figure that the radical, extremist Zionists are continuing to promote genocide by resorting to “whataboutism” with the 50 hostages in Gaza, while that many or more innocent Palestinians are being slaughtered every day. I’m for freeing the hostages on both sides, removing Hamas from the face of this earth, and Nuremburg-style trials for Netanyahu, Blinken, and many others who are alive and responsible for this disaster, but ABSOLUTELY NOT as a pre-condition to ending this genocide.
Unfortunately no one really cares about the hostages on the Palestine side. It just goes to show you how dehumanized they've been throughout this whole ordeal. For every thousand times hostages on the other side of the are mentioned maybe once the Palestinian ones are recognized.
They should drop the despicable pretense then that genocide is a suitable response to the events of 10/7. Let’s consider worst case figures. Less than 1,500 were killed or kidnapped on 10/7/2023. At least 1/4 were active security forces in Israel. At least 1/2 served at some point in the IDF. That leaves, AT MOST, a total of no more than 375 non-combatant individuals. Israel has slaughtered, ON AVERAGE, at least 375 non-combatant women and children individuals (nearly all of whom DID NOT vote for Hamas, ever) for every one of the approx. 83 weeks since 10/7/2023. I’m not even bothering to include innocent, non-combatant men. Try to imagine any other scenario where a “revenge factor” of at least 83:1 would be argued as “not enough yet”. You don’t even have to accept the stone cold reality of what Israel has done for decades to create the conditions that led to this (and no, it hasn’t only been Israel’s policies and actions, but they are front and center) … just explain for all to see how you think the proportions of this response are not quite enough yet. We’ll wait.
