I’m all for doing a lot of interior design on my own. I order “for the trade” items and choose my own fabrics. But I wouldn’t attempt what you’re describing. Too risky.
What's risky about ordering cushions?
OP wants a comfortable banquet. With a back cushion. But it sounds like someone is building the banquet out of plywood, and she’s DIY designing the cushions. But the person building it doesn’t even know yet how thick the cushions will be, and neither one knows how the back cushion will attach? So is anyone figuring out what the seat height of the wood part should be given the cushion, or how much deeper the seat should be to accommodate the back cushion? What is the angle of the back going to be? Or is she thinking it will be upholstered like a diner booth? And we want it to be removable/washable. This is one of those things that seems simple but is actually hard to get right.
