With covid stuff sentencing got easier and easier, policy groups took credit for it. There was complicity of light or treatment of criminals. At the same time, a dozen or more high profile prosecutors said they would not bring charges or enforce certain crimes.  All of this was official policy.  People witnessed an increase or at least perceptions of increases in crime in their communities

At the same time, the local battles started in school boards. There were heated and places like Montgomery Co, Maryland became unreasonable.  You’ll see them put in line by the Supreme Court soon.  Things were all over the place and people begged for order.   The president wandered around and talked about Sister Mary. He disrespected Gold Star families because he was out of it. They went on ABC News to tell everyone

People were angry about all of it.
