Agree with all of this!  My DD transferred because the first school was a bad fit and she really struggled to adjust.  She transferred way up in ranking and loves the new school now.  But first semester was starting over again and there was no campus housing so she was off campus in an apartment.  Very hard to meet people that way!  She had to adjust to a different school with different norms, etc.  She  is happy she transferred but wishes she had found a better fit to begin with.  I would not recommend going in with the intention to transfer.  It is very disruptive both academically and socially.[/quote]

Agree, it is also just a terrible mindset to have. To be so focused on rank that you’re pushing your dc to transfer ‘up’ because of it. [/quote]
