Wow this makes me question my DD going into CS where I hear kids applying to 200+ jobs starting in July and not getting offers. Is the CS major this competitive? Is this going to get even worse?[/quote]

DS is Engineering not in CS, but many friends at Penn are. The main group of boys are sophomores and all have internships, some with companies some research. They applied in the fall/winter and had jobs lined up by February at the latest. Even the kid with under a 3.5 got a job fairly easily. None of them did anywhere near 200 applications. All but one are financial aid kids, none were through personal connections but some were faculty connections[/quote]
