Three times a week I work out at home with 5 lb weights. I am going to stay at someone else's house next week and can't bring the weights. I would like to not lose momentum. I don't think pushups will help, but ... will they? Are there arm exercises I can do without weights for my biceps and deltoids, etc.? Holding a can of beans won't cut it.
Why can't you bring 5lb weights? I mean they are tiny and, honestly, I doubt 5lb weights are doing much for you anyway. It sounds like you have a great routine, which is more than half the battle; however, if you want to make gains in strength and/or muscle size, you need to increase weight every week or so, so, unless you just started weight training 2-3 weeks ago, your gains have probably stalled and you are wasting your time with 5lb weights. If you are doing it to lose weight and/or fat in those areas, weights won't do it. Your diet does.
Because no sane person is bringing 5 lb weights (or an empty laundry detergent bottle) on a plane. Assuming OP is flying otherwise she’d be able to bring the weights. Body weight exercisers are your friend for the week. They’re probably more effect than 5 lbs every three days. Just do pushups and chair dips everyday.
