Since you are looking at a destination with family that is driving distance, you have the choice to take quite a bit with you if that helps, and depending on family space and resources, you might be able to keep some things with them. I prefer to take as little as I can.

With a 5 week old and a toddler, you must be exhausted. I think if you keep traveling it will be easier for you and soon. Tell H what you need. Yes it is a tough time for him, but he needs to make some effort for you and the children as well. Now is a time to just be very direct and clear with him- I need you to do X at Y time. After the crisis you can have a more in depth talk about what you and the children will need from him for travel.[/quote]
