But I am discouraged that the university puts its money into a nail salon and first-run movies rather than faculty salaries. I know faculty who have turned down jobs there because of this. And as someone who is in academia and is also the parent of a college student, it does pertain to me in the sense that HPU is on the leading edge of an unfortunate arms race of non-academic related luxuries that drive tuition up for everyone.[/quote]
