Coffee is a traditional digestif and will cause weight gain and fat redistribution to the midsection, regardless of how you drink it, due to the stimulant nature of the caffeine. [/quote] Just wanted to add to this, stimulants can help you lose fat also, IF used properly. The science behind it is caffeine will help "loosen" fats and send them into the bloodstream, so if you are in Ketosis, you will use those released fats as fuel during exercise. If you drink coffee and don't immediately exercise afterwards, those fats that were in the bloodstream will be redeposited, usually around the midsection.
