Our culture is much more about individual independence/liberty, while theirs has a larger community focus.

What's happening to our nation now is a threat to the nation as a whole, and we don't feel it yet individually. Regardless of how much certain people may shout that they are patriotic, they are not. We tend to support our selfish needs for independence rather than our community need to maintain a nation that actually fosters and upholds our liberties. This is very true.  I've said it before.  Americans are much more "me me me".  Other countries are much more community focused, hence the reason for basic universal healthcare.

+1 That’s just it. MAGAs would be just fine with a dictatorship as long as they feel they’re on the dictator’s “good side” and their personal needs and values are fulfilled. They’d quietly watch half the country be carted off to prison camps for disagreeing with the dictator and tell themselves it’s all for the best, mutter something incoherent about migrants and transgender people, and then go back to bc watching FOX.
