I am beyond confused. Imagine the most crude guy who has that kind of sense of humor running to the manager because he couldn't take what I dished out.

I messed up but I just can't fathom that THAT guy would run to the teacher so to speak..

haha. This happens. There are plenty of anti social people at work. Some literally will try to “get you” if possible 
If someone gives you reason to not trust them (like bad judgment in jokes) then you can not trust them -
they have to earn trust

like anyone  takes time for people to earn your trust and honesty [/quote]
