State courts don't have the authority to try federal law enforcement officials acting in the course of their duties. That's been the law since the 19th century. What this state court judge seems to be more upset about is the threat that federal law enforcement officials will seize illegal alien defendants when they are involved in state court criminal proceedings. Since state law enforcement won't cooperate with ICE, monitoring the defendant's whereabouts based on state criminal proceedings seems reasonable and lawful. It's not interfering with the state court's jurisdiction.[/quote]
