I know you said you can’t gain muscle but if I were you, I’d take that money to find someone to help me gain muscle like my body depends on it. Eg, trainer, nutritionist, etc.
Op here: I have a very hard time gaining and keeping muscle mass, I don’t think it is impossible and I have actually succeeded in the past. Just like a diet though, with a very intense effort that I haven’t managed to sustain. Your advice could be a great one but knowledge is not my issue. I know how to gain muscle (and I had a trainer in the past). Just like for losing weight, the problem is sticking to the right routine given that I am not naturally muscular. All this to say: yes I plan on focusing on more weight training this coming month. The big question will be finding the time and energy and prioritizing it.
OP, I count at least 3 places here where you acknowledge your own lack of willpower/ follow-through/ whatever you want to call it. I think the bigger question for you is: If you can't "find the time and energy" and "prioritize" your health, you are not going to have success. You, like many other people, will find it simpler to take medication as a magic bullet and will keep right on living life like you always have. I fear for these people when, in 10 years, it comes out how dangerous these drugs really are.
OP here. I do, and that’s my point. I realize I typed my challenge too quickly : Option A: for the coming month I focus and do everything right and I get some satisfying results (for me). I will have proven to myself that someone like me doesn’t need GLP 1 Option B : I fail at eating and exercising right and I don’t get results. It is a motivation issue, not a metabolic issue. I don’t need GLP 1 because anyway even if I get it for a few months I will end up in same spot when I stop as I won’t take it forever. (Again, for someone like me who has only some vanity pounds to lose and that some of you already consider too thin. I have zero judgement on anyone using GLP1 and who got the help they needed). Option C: the option that intellectually I believe to be the most unlikely but I am testing now (because again, peri-menopause, changes etc..). I do everything right for a month and I get zero results. So I either need to accept my new body, or eat even less/exercise more than I use to, or try GLP 1 to see a change. I don’t know what my decision will be but that’s what I am testing. This is what the 2 other threads on this page are about (the one apologizing for not believing peri-menopausal women, and I will recognize right here that my 44 yo problems are not 50yo problems; and the one about GLP 1 for 10-15 pounds)
