Ugh, those poor families left in the lurch post-lottery. I think it's inevitable that some charters will have to close, and DCPS may have to make some adjustments. The city just doesn't have the student population it had before, and the cost pressure is only getting worse.
What are you talking about? 24-25 was up 1% from year prior. DCPS is at or above where it was pre-pandemic. It remains to be seen what the current environment will bring, but what you typed is simply wrong. What do people like you get from making things up? Are you a DOGE team member? Just say it with confidence and hope no one checks it?
I am not making things up, but I meant to say that the city does not have as high a population forecast as it did before. So some schools will have to close or at least downsize, and it seems like I Dream saw the writing on its particular wall. I suppose we'll find out more details eventually.
You said what you said. The exact quote was, " The city just doesn't have the student population it had before". How are you going to argue that was intended to be a statement about enrollment projections? That doesn't even pass the smell test. You made up a stat and got called out for doing so. I was kidding before about you being a DOGE staffer but now I'm seriously wondering if you might be. It takes that kind of chutzpah to just pretend you didn't say what you said and hope no one notices.
Calm down, this isn't a deposition.
