ER NYPD Blue Yellowstone 1883 Schitt’s Creek
Schitt's Creek wasn't "canceled" - it ended. I miss it too but there's a difference between shows that finish their storylines and those that are cut off short! For me: Santa Clarita Diet. That show was so bonkers and fun, and it ended with such a cliffhanger. Also: Life in Pieces. RIP.
Oh totally agree on Life in Pieces. That show was hilarious and so well acted. Also on comedies — Bradley Whitfield Trophy Wife which sounded like it would be hacky but was actually very charming and well done Paul reiser’s show Reboot about a sit com writer and his estranged kid. Had promise but didn’t really hit its stride. The Matthew Perry show Mr Sunshine — one of his best and a great concept (he runs the convention center with shoes and stuff) Playing House — so funny. Remember when USA made funny quirky shows? Wrecked — parody of Lost, also very funny People of Earth — one of my favorite shows ever!!! Aliens in Beacon, NY. Everyone on it was just an amazing comedic actor. This one makes me especially sad. There was a really fun sci fi show about going back in time to the dinosaurs to reboot humanity pre climate change that was great but I think the CGI costs were prohibitive. Also the quantum leap reboot and the show Timeless. Neither was perfect (lead actresses kn both were not great) but the male leads and supporting actors in each were really great and the overarching “mystery” over the series didn’t always seem to make sense, but the writing of the individual episodes were amazing. I think the things like costuming. Vintage cars/carriages, sets, etc were probably just too expensive for the network folks to carry — they were probably like “yeah, we could find 100 vintage Mldel Ts for this episode about the 1920s and move production to some old timey town in upstate NY, or we could just run another Steve Harvey game show or get a bunch of women in bikinis to compete over one guy — that seems like a better ROI.”
I am the PP and could not agree more about Trophy Wife! The only show with a worse name than Cougartown - and just as funny. Really enjoyed Reboot, too. All I can say is they had BETTER not cancel Resident Alien before we get a proper resolution of that story.
