[/quote] I don't understand why someone would want an AART's input on whether to appeal. Everyone should appeal if they are willing to put in the effort. It can't hurt. There's always the chance your application, even if nothing changes, would get a yes vote from a different 6-person committee during appeal. If they have any sense, the AART would never tell you not to appeal. However, the AART might be able to give you some suggestions for how to improve the content of your application during the appeal.
