We ended up staying put last year but looking around again this year. My child has attended a practice at one other club so far. They didn’t tell us which team they would practice with ahead of time, but we figured out it was the second team. Funny enough later in the week our child was at their own club’s practice and a few new kids showed up, including one from the team where our child had just visited. Those kids were told to go practice with the second team. So maybe that’s the default… start with second team and if you stand out maybe you get asked to come back and try with first team, or if you don’t look good you are asked to come back and try with third team or just not asked back.
