Fun fact - back in the late 70s/early 80s Woodmont closed and sent its kids to Taylor because both had declining populations. Would be ironic to close Taylor and for them to send their kids to yet another school.
That was 40-50 years ago!
In the 1980s there was a low birth period and LOTS of APS elementary schools were closed—across Arlington—not just Woodmont. Those “impacted families” were families with kids….who are now almost 50 years old. I don’t think ironic is the right word. This is the thing about Arlington Public Schools, some crazy person is worried about 50 year old “kids.” A public school system has to manage its buildings for best use over 50 year time horizons. I just wish they weren’t engaging in this nonsense every FEW years. It’s poor planning by them and very disruptive for families. Not those old families!!!!
