These beaches are great for people from Atlanta, Tennessee, Alabama & similar because they can drive there. If you are getting on a flight, there are so many other places to go and it really doesn't make sense.
Thanks this is helpful. Sounds like kind of a regional winner not worth the flight.
I’m from Georgia and agree there are better beach towns to visit from DC. Rosemary Beach and 30A are beautiful, but have terrible traffic and crowds during the busy season. If staying within the US, I suggest to instead visit Anna Maria island or Clearwater beach. Longboat Key is very nice as well but more limited lodging options and not really walkable. If you really want to see the 30A area, I’d suggest basing yourself in Panama City Beach and do a day trip to the RB/30A area. PCB gets busy too but is not as congested as RB area. My family actually prefers PCB. If you just want a nice lowkey beach in the area and don’t care about walkability or attractions, you can visit: Pensacola Beach Navarre beach Perdido Key Orange Beach Gulf Shores Fort Walton beach
