Illegal immigrants breaking the law shouldn’t be allowed to stay in the US. Why are you trying to encourage or support criminal activity?
Being in the country illegally is not a criminal offense.
In addition to their illegal entry or VISA overstay, 100% every adult illegal "immigrant" is breaking multiple laws... If they work, they are either doing it with false identity papers (identity theft; fraud; etc.) or under the table (tax evasion).
True. The problem is, that exactly this has been tolerated, (and rather encouraged), including by big business owners and those in power, for 50++ years across every administration. It has been completely normalized. I don’t know any other country where this set up is even conceivable. In many countries you can get nothing done without your national ID or papers that show your status. This includes all of Europe last I checked. The other problem is that legal immigration, over the same amount of time, has become the biggest, most difficult, most lengthy process, and rarely, if ever, has anyone tried to amend this. (Nor has the current administration any plans apparently either, sadly.)
These two things... illegal and legal immigration are not linked. Anyway, we allow nearly two million legal immigrants each year. I'm kind of done. Our foreign born population is too high, and we need to assimilate people and make sure that our own young people have jobs (not to mention older people supported by the government) before importing more.
