Blame the parents who lie about their child's age and use fake birth certificates so their kid can stay on the smaller field longer. I wish I were joking.
For real? In our LL the crazy competitive parents are falling all over themselves to brag about their kid playing up. Who are these people trying to hold the kids back?
When you see the 5’9 180 lb “6th grader” on 1B you’ll know.
You guys realize some kids really are just big, right? Unless you have proof the kid is older it’s obnoxious and bullying to assume.
And some parents use younger siblings birth certificate to lie about age. We had this happen at a local tournament. The tourn staff noticed brothers had the same birth certificate once the "younger" kids age was challenged.
Okay. That doesn’t refute the statement to which you replied.
2 things can be true- some kids are bigger, yet there have been cases where some parents cheat and put their bigger older kids on a younger team. This is why birth certificates are required for tournaments.
Respectfully, duh. My point was that many people in this thread need to stop ASSUMING that bigger kids == older kids. Unless you have PROOF (e.g. you’ve seen the birth certificate) you’re actually just being a bullying AH.
When your team of 11 yo are all face to butt level with the 1B who also has a mustache, there's a right to question.
If you’re just some random parent? Actually no, you don’t have a right to question. Just watch your own kid. And I’ve known multiple boys who have had mustaches since they were in about fifth grade. They’re usually extremely self conscious about it, but by all means, keep up the bullying because you don’t understand puberty and distributions.
