You can lose a pound or so a week but more than that will be way to hard to maintain. I am also 5'9 and went from 178 to 153 this year. I am now back up to 159 but I have continued to slim down and my clothes are baggier. Consider: -strength training (I actually look smaller and wear a size smaller pants now than I did when I hit 153.) I do a barre class once a week and weight workouts at home (YouTube) twice a week. I also walk 10,000-15,000 steps per day but that is more for mental health. -I think people underestimate how letting lose on the weekends can really add up. I started eating a hearty snack (ex: cottage cheese with cucumbers and feta with a few slices of salami or deli turkey and cheese wrapped around a pickle spear) before I go out to dinner or out with friends. This just stops the food noise and lets me use more restraint. This also really helps with kid events- you don't actually want to eat the Dominos pizza or the grocery store cupcake at the birthday party...it is just tempting in the moment! -Go to bed a tiny bit hungry. I've learned that I dont want to feel full when I go to bed. I want to feel pretty neutral, maybe slightly hungry. So eating dinner earlier and going on a walk afterward really does help. I like waking up feeling lighter. -POOP! I have focused a lot on my digestive health this year. I take a probiotic and daily metamucil. Having a good BM every morning makes me feel light and not at all bloated. This keeps me motivated with eating because I love the way I feel in my clothes. You got this!
