Can't believe there are people that go there voluntarily.
+1. I have to go for work fairly frequently and can't imagine paying to be there. It is tacky and gross. No, I'm not MAGA or anything close to it.
Dubai isn't for everyone. It is a hugely popular tourist destination for much of the world, particularly South Asians and Middle Easterners and Europeans. You'd know this if you went to Dubai regularly. I can see the word tacky being used if referring to bling bling and excess, but gross is pretty strong. Have you been to Dubai? Where do you go? Where is the office and the hotel you stay in? It's a remarkably clean and pretty orderly city so I don't see where gross fits in.
Agree. I highly doubt PP has set foot there. It’s one of the cleanest places I’ve ever been. “Gross” is not a word I’d use to describe it.
Would you prefer, "despicable?" It's like Vegas but with more human rights abuses and if you go down one small level from tourist it's pretty in your face.
NP. I see all the Dubai boosters had no response to this.
Maybe it's because intelligent people know when there's no point responding to a poster anymore and it's time to take your ball and go home? I don't doubt the "gross poster (who I highly doubt has ever been to Dubai) wouldn't have a problem traveling anywhere in Africa or India or Thailand or Cambodia or Vietnam, all of who have far worse "human rights abuses" than the UAE, which while not without its issues, is a fairly modern and developed and orderly country. It's fashionable among certain types of people, aka those who have no problems with USAID funding transgender operas in third world countries, to make fun of Dubai but it only exposes their ignorance and hypocrisy.
