The thought of one of them being arrested was a constant source of anxiety, as it could have meant losing the pathetic home I had. Ultimately, my hope is to see a strong, liberal Russia that genuinely cares for its working class and those below, rather than the pitiful excuse for a democracy we currently endure.[/quote]

I'm sorry you've experienced the crazy Russophobia that swept over America during the last several years. I've seen it myself firsthand and have spoken out against it. No matter what anyone thinks of the government of Russia, ordinary Russian people and Russian culture have nothing to do with that. I think Russian people have so much to be proud of from their culture and I welcome you and others from Russia with open arms.

If you came here illegally, you need to return to Russia. But assuming you followed our laws to get here, know that most Americans have nothing against the Russian people; many of us are fully aware of the amazing contributions of Russians to many cultural and scientific areas of progress.

The Russophobia will pass; probably very quickly. Hang in there![/quote]
