I worked for a system where there was no "union."  But, the contract protected sorry teachers.  I saw this in action.  Teacher shifted from school to school to avoid firing.  My principal finally pulled the plug.  The paperwork and "guidance" given was incredible.  He wasn't the best principal in the world, but he did due diligence on this.  It was extremely time consuming and took attention away from other issues.  But, it was necessary.  A year lost for her students whose parents didn't raise cain and get their kids out.  Many did.

There is not a current functioning teacher’s union. Some teachers were members of FCFT or FEA but those were not unions in the (usually negative) sense y’all traditionally mean. The new, actual union is still being fashioned and has zero members.[/quote]
