Glad your streets were plowed and you have flexibility at work or SAH to be able to take your kids to school on a weird last minute schedule.  Ours are icy hills with piles of snow/ice and not passable by school buses.  And I don't get paid time off or able to reschedule work meetings based on a last minute whim to reopen the schools on a Friday for a short day. [/quote]

Not tone deaf but thinking that there are times when it is ok that some schools are closed while others are open. I would have been fine with your school being closed when my kids school was open because it was accessible. This happens so infrequently that I don’t think my kid having an extra day of school, or missing an extra day, is a big deal. I think insisting that no one go to school because a small percentage of schools are not safe to attend.

The idea that the County has to be all open or all closed is the problem. If the county had a more nuanced open/close policy, some people would have been in school on Wednesday. I am sorry that your school wasn’t ready to be opened but I think the kids at my kids school were fine for school and should not lose another day.  [/quote]
