Our son wet the bed through age 7. We found using a Bedwetting alarm (consistently, getting to him immediately to get his feet on the floor, walk him to the bathroom even if already peed) worked after several weeks. Invest in pads that can sit on top of the fitted sheet. Just switch the wet one for a dry one, reattach the alarm and go back to bed. It felt like having a newborn again with the night wake-ups, but it worked.
Yes, this. We initially acquired a bedwetting alarm but it didn't seem to work. I took my child to all kinds of doctors, from several pediatricians, to urologist, to nephrologist. A very good pediatrician advised that by age 13 our child would grow out if this. It didn't sound good, of course, as my child was only 6 then. Then a highly regarded nephrologist, after ruling out everything and taking into account our consultations with other specialists, advised to work with a psychologist who worked with bedwetting. Our first meeting resulted in specific instructions on how to use the alarm properly. Wake up the child, move the child to the bathroom, even if there is nothing left to pee, sit the child on the toilet (potty for little ones), all in order to start forming necessary brain reactions. The psychologist advised that we would need patience and the process could take 1.5 months. That's how long it took. I couldn't believe I've had the solution all along and just didn't know how to use it.
