To me, driving 10+ hours and going to a national park every holiday would be too much.  And the national parks I love are mostly out west unfortunately.

Or save up and go on a nice holiday every 3-4 years.

Yes - travel is so much more $$$ now.  We used to do $1000/night luxe rooms at famous locations which are now like $2k+ and that's just completely a deal killer.  I don't think we'll go back to the islands ever again but maybe look at places like Belize or Costa Rica.  Nicaragua or Dominica.  [/quote]
