[/quote] The difference is the activities in Japan (aside from Tokyo) are typically much more outdoors. In DC, you’re crossing the Mall for a few minutes in the heat but then ducking into an air conditioned building. In Kyoto, you’re climbing the Inari steps, the temples are largely open air, and you’re roasting all the time. [/quote]
