PR is great during spring break, op! OSJ is very crowded that week, fyi. But it’s still worth visiting. Driving/parking require patience. Definitely rent a car. Visit Luquillo beach and the kioskos before or after visiting El Yunque.
Thanks! We've been multiple times and know our way around pretty well. We'll definitely be at the kioskos and luquillo most days :)
DP and I’m jealous! Love that beach and Mojito Lab… and the relleno bowls place. The St Regis there is great if someone else is looking at that. There’s a big water park thing for kids on one end of the property.
Is the beach actually nice? Every time I start researching a trip to PR, I get talked out of it because the beaches don’t compare to other parts of the Caribbean. I’m worried I will be disappointed.
Depends on where. Isla verde can be a bit rough, but Cayo icacos and luquillo are beautiful. It's not the Caribbean Sea. But it's definitely better than northern Virginia, which was my other option given the flight costs to the Caribbean. We travel all around the Caribbean and the food in Puerto Rico is some of the best.
