I was a contractor before I signed on permanent fed. One of the benefits as a permanent employee is that I get paid federal holidays; one of the negatives is that I make less money overall. You pick your dinner and then you eat it. If you don't want to have federal holidays go unpaid and can't budget for it, then sign on permanent and take the pay cut, give up flexibility, etc. [/quote]
