If not, maybe it would be better to aim more for the schools that rank, say, 20 through 30 on the list of schools that send a lot of students to math grad school, instead for the schools at the top of the list. The problem with the schools at the top of the list is that it may be somewhat overwhelming to try to study math as a normal bright person along people who were ready for university math and literature classes, when they were 10.
