Clearly this parent isn't AAP material...[/quote] I'm the PP above, if its not fulltime (ie level 4) AAP, advanced math placement is decided by the principal of your school. Level 4 applications etc is a different path. So if your goal is advanced math specifically, you have time b/c school doesn't make decision until late spring. Talk to your kid's teacher about it, they've likely noticed the strength there already but parent convos help keep it in their mind. Mine is dyslexic/anxiety so level 4 seemed like it would create too much stress for them but advanced math only is excellent for their skills.[/quote]
