Always have a back up plan. If he is talking to you about it he most likely has a good feeling about how things are going to workout. Players know when the coach puts them in the cut zone. This means you and he have to start looking for a new club/team or quit the sport. Sounds like it is over at this club.

Sorry my kid was a very good player, had an injury, coach changed and was cut. Kid was about 3 months from being fully back. It’s tough to find a new team and a cut is demoralizing. It is important to tell him it is okay if he wants to stop. It’s just a sport and there are other things to do. You will support him with whatever decision he makes. [/quote]
