Ozempic is for diabetics and pre-diabetics. Wegovy is the same drug for weight loss. For Wegovy you need to have an obese BMI, or an overweight BMI plus some other issue. Ask your GP to order bloodwork that checks your blood sugar, blood fats, etc.

Although your GP can prescribe, many are reluctant to. If that's the case, you should make an appointment with a medical weight loss clinic, such as Inova. There is typically a wait so in the meanwhile you can pay one of the online services to hook you up with a doctor that pretty much just does these prescriptions. You can go to your health insurance website to look up your insurance copay for the meds.
